Whilst patterned rugs can add interest and variety to a room, plain ones promote simplicity.
Strong colours can add a certain impact and plain single colour rugs are always contemporary design features. They free a space from overcrowding clutter.
Here we offer statements of solid red or solid blue. The weave, which includes texture, is a blend of jute with cotton yarn, woven on a robust cotton warp.
Free from synthetic yarns, most of the weft is super ecologically-sound high-grade jute.

Where from? These rugs are woven in the district of Rangpur in the north-west of Bangladesh, a place once famous for indigo (now being revived).
The rugs are individually produced on handlooms, operated by women and by men. The name «Sutli» derives from Bangla sutā, twine, the essence of the weaving. We offer a choice of two sizes as well as the two colours you see here.
We find that the rugs can be machine washed if necessary. That must be done separately on a gentle woollens program, maximum 30°C without the use of harsh detergents or bleaches. Dry the rug flat and, if it gets distorted in the wash pull it back to shape before it is fully dry. Do not tumble-dry.
