When bedtime comes around, and deep comfort is being sought, you really cannot beat 100% pure cotton.     Forget your synthetics; they just don't offer the natural feel of cotton.       Here's a duvet cover with a crisp and straightforward look:     We present our simple uncluttered «Check».     But this is not one of those surface prints you might see elsewhere.     No, here the check is part of the actual weave of the fabric.     What's more, these duvet covers are not made from impersonal automated cloth off a machine.     Consistent with the principles of Onevillage.com, this is genuine hand woven fabric made on handlooms [see below].     Because of unique characteristics of handloom weaving – as compared with more common millmade fabric (from power looms) – you will probably discover that handloom weaving like this is cooler in summer whilst also more cosy in winter.     The weaving is by a cooperative of skilled artisans at Maa Tarini Weavers Cooperative Society, based deep in the countryside of Orissa, eastern India.     The thin lines of the check are spaced out at half-inches, with either blue or light-tan yarn set into a neutral white base.     Not stark white mind: the base is the soft colour of natural unbleached cotton.             The weavers (who proudly continue a celebrated tradition of their craft), choose fine 2/80s mercerized yarn that produces a smooth and comfortable fabric similar to shirting material.     You are sure to enjoy getting snug under a duvet with one of these. Button closing along the bottom short edge. Comes as a set complete with standard UK-size pillowcases (75x50cm). 100% cotton; hand-woven in Orissa India. Machine washable (suggested max 30°).
